MANAGEMENT REPORT by Michael Flores, General Manager
Please remember to always lock your vehicle whenever it is left unattended. Here are several steps that are helpful to follow.
 
  • Always lock your vehicle, even when it’s parked in your driveway or garage.
  • Always take your keys or fob with you.
  • Never leave or hide a smart key, valet key, or spare key anywhere in or on your vehicle, no matter where you park it.
  • Never leave your car running while unattended or unlocked.
  • If possible, park your vehicle in a locked garage.
  • Close all your vehicle’s windows completely when parked.
  • Consider installing a GPS system, a visible anti-theft device or an audible alarm.
  • Never leave valuable personal property in your vehicle.
 
MAINTENANCE
Please remember to exercise caution when biking, walking, and running along Vista Campana, as biking and pedestrian activity might not always be visible to cars. Try to utilize the sidewalks as much as possible and during early morning and evening hours, please wear bright / reflective clothing, and use safety lights and reflectors whenever possible.

Homeowner Comments for General Session 
Wednesday May 29, 2024, the OCA BOD will hold the monthly board meeting. Membership has an opportunity to speak during homeowner comments portion of the board meeting. Each member will have 3 minutes to speak. 
For any homeowner that won’t be able to attend the meeting, their voice may still be heard, by emailing their 
(under 3 minute) comments, to President Roxanne Remmel, by Tuesday 5:00pm, for the Wednesday 5/24 morning meeting. The Board President will read the statement during homeowner comments portion of the meeting. 
 
Ballot Measure A and B
Please make sure to insert the mailing label in the return envelope so the ballot is delivered to the Inspector of Election and the mailing insert also identifies “Ballot A Measure or Ballot B Measure”.

 Please return your ballots before the May 29th deadline to the Inspector of Elections or you may turn in your ballot to the Inspector of Election at 9:00 a.m. at the auditorium before the May 29, 2024 meeting. Both Measures will be tabulated on May 29, 2024.    Thank you!

Thurs, May 2nd from 9:45-10:30 AM:  Share & Wear Fashion Show Cheer on your neighbors as they model clothes available for sale at Share & Wear.  Come early to purchase $1 coffee and donuts before the show starts!

 

Fri, May 3rd:  Cinco de Mayo Party from 5:00 to 7:00 pm

Enjoy a poolside party with margaritas and Mexican food from our caterer Eddie Chiw. Direct from Coyote Bar & Grill in Carlsbad, local band “Mor Sol” will be performing.   Only $15! Sign up between April 10 and May 1.

It’s free, no signup required.   Popcorn, soft pretzel bites, and soda available for $1.00 each; hot dogs for $3.00 each .  Doors open at 2:30 pm. 

 

Wed, May 8th,10:00 to 11:30 am:  It’s Collage time, with Resident Nora Shea.  $5.00 class fee. Register at the office by May 3rd.

 

Sat, May 11th, 12:30 to 2:30pm: Resident Orientation and Info Fair  Serving hot dogs, chips, soda and cookies at the Clubhouse!  Raffling off free prizes every 15 minutes.  All are welcome, no signup!

 

Fri, May 17th, 5:00 to 7:00pm:  Poolside Summer Concert #2

Bluegrass fans, don’t miss this performance by the Shoreline Pickers!  Bring your own picnic and beverages, but no glass bottles please.  Only $5!  Sign up between April 24 and May 15.

 

The Community Resource Center (CRC) is conducting a survey of residents regarding our services.  Paper surveys will be available in the brochures stand outside of the CRC office, located in the Clubhouse lobby. 503 Vista Bella Development Update:

A new development proposal has been submitted to the City of Oceanside Planning Department. If you plan to send a letter opposing this project, please send it to the attention of Oceanside City Council members through the Office of the City Clerk, attn: Dr. Zeb Navarro. Council needs to know now of opposition to this development as proposed!

Calling All Cribbage Players

Every Wednesday, 1pm to 3pm, in the Oceana cardroom we will be playing cribbage for all levels – come to play and learn!! We play 2’s, 3’s and 4’s. It will be fun! Come meet new people.

Please call Rhonda at 760 212 -7175 for any further questions. There will be teachers there to help newcomers to explain the rules! Bring on the challenge!!

Please contact temporary chair, Kris at [email protected] if interested or have questions. Or stop in 04/10/24 @ 10:30 in the  Clubhouse Card room for the  monthly meeting. The CRC is a free service, volunteer led, and  is dedicated to helping Oceana residents find community resources they need.
